CLEVELAND - As a result of the possible formation of a Gay Straight Alliance Club at White County High School, county school officials will be exploring the current guidelines for forming a non-curricular club.
The White County Board of Education says high school principal Brian Dorsey and Superintendent Dr. Paul Shaw believe the current guidelines for clubs at the school need to be explored. One of the options they will be looking at is the formation of an advisory group made up of parents, teachers and citizens to provide recommendations regarding the implementation and supervision of clubs at the schools.
Board of Education Chairman Kendyl Brock said they will use the information provided by the two in making decisions.
Word of plans for the club surfaced earlier this week.
