COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) South Carolina has suspended six baseball players for six games after they accepted free rounds of golf last summer.<br> <br> Five pitchers and one position player will sit out this weekend&#39;s season-opening series against Longwood and next weekend&#39;s three-game series against Radford.<br> <br> The players were allowed to play golf for free at a Columbia course late last summer, which would be a violation of NCAA rules that prohibit athletes from receiving benefits beyond those available to all members of the student body, according to the school.<br> <br> The Southeastern Conference and the NCAA have agreed to the suspension, the university said.<br> <br> The suspended players are third baseman Steve Pearce and pitchers Cliff Donald, Jason Fletcher, Arik Hempy, Andy Lambert and Tim McCarty.
