GAINESVILLE - The North Hall girls tennis won its opening match of the season taking a tough 4-1 win over rival Chestatee Friday at Chestatee High School.<br>

The Lady Trojans (1-0) next will play at home at 4 p.m. Monday against Region 7-AAA foe Flowery Branch.<br>

At No. 1 singles, North Hall's Emily Randall needed three sets to beat Chestatee's Lauren Hammock 6-0, 3-6, 6-1 while Karly Franze of North Hall also went to three sets with Chestatee's Jenny Hulsey before pulling out a 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles.<br>

Chestatee's Nicole Lackey beat North Hall's Mary Katherine Pittman 6-3, 6-1 for their only win at No. 3 singles.<br>

At No. 1 doubles, North Hall's Courtney Cooper and Lindsey Kitchens beat Chestatee's Erica Lacky and Lindsey Grant 6-2, 6-2 while North Hall's Maggie Mayfield and Haley Crowder whipped Chestatee's Courtney Pool and Tiffany Hayes 6-0,6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
