Man sentenced to life in driving death of state trooper

<p>A man was sentenced to life in prison Monday after he pleaded guilty to the killing of a Georgia State Patrol trooper.</p><p>Kenneth B. Medlock pleaded guilty to charges of felony murder and attempting to elude two years after the death of 36-year-old Tony Lumley, a state trooper who died when he ran off the road during a high-speed chase in Spalding County.</p><p>Medlock was wanted as a carjacking suspect when he led police on the chase. Lumley's patrol car collided with Medlock's car and then veered off Ga. 16. The trooper's vehicle went down an embankment and flipped.</p><p>Lumley's death prompted lawmakers to pass a bill last year that made leading police on a high-speed chase a felony.
