STARKVILLE, MISSISSIPPI - Jamall Edmondson scored a career-high 26 points and hit six 3-pointers to lead Mississippi State to a 67-59 win over New Orleans on Wednesday night.

Reginald Delk added a career-best 16 points and Jamont Gordon had 12 for the Bulldogs (4-2), who snapped a two-game losing streak and are wrapping up a stretch of seven games in 15 days.

Mississippi State, which led by as many as 16, held on despite a late barrage of 3-pointers from the Privateers (1-3).

New Orleans hit three straight late 3-pointers and pulled to within 65-59 with 1:53 remaining, but failed to score after that and went on to lose its third straight.

The Bulldogs were without two key starters, guard Dietric Slater and forward Piotr Stelmach, who are out with ankle injuries.

Dusty Driggs had 12 points, while Bo McCalebb and James Parlow added 11 each and Shawn Malloy had 10 for the Privateers, who relocated to Tyler, Texas, after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in August.

McCalebb had 16 in last year's meeting, also won by Mississippi State. The Bulldogs led the series 6-1 and are unbeaten against the Privateers in regular-season play. New Orleans' only win in the series came in the 1990 National Invitation Tournament.
