GAINESVILLE - Nearly an inch of rain fell between midnight Sunday and 9:00 Monday morning in Gainesville - bringing the two-day total to more than 1.5 inches. <br>

Heavy downpours slowed rush-hour traffic but there were no serious accidents and, in fact, there were far fewer than on most rain-free mornings. Gainesville Police, Hall County sheriff's deputies and the state patrol reported only two accidents during the commute.<br>

The forecast calls for more rain Monday and Monday night with colder weather moving in after that.
