Hall County School System revises high school test schedule

GAINESVILLE - The start of the new semester for Hall County high school students has been changed.

Because of the ice storm and after-effects that occurred on last Thursday and Friday, high school students in Hall County were not able to complete their exams, some of which included state-mandated end of course tests (EOCT).

According to System Spokesman Gordon Higgins, this is the revised schedule is being issued for the conclusion of 1st Semester 2005.

Monday, January 2, 2006:
· Teachers return from Holidays for scheduled work day.
· Students may report to the schools on a voluntary basis for review of materials for upcoming final exams:
o 1st exam period will offer review from 1:00-2:00 p.m.
o 2nd exam period will offer review from 2:00-3:00 p.m.

Tuesday, January 3, 2006:
· Students return from Holidays: the school day will be dedicated to review for the two class periods of finals exams that had to be postponed from Thursday, December 15, 2005.

Wednesday, January 4, 2006:
· Students will take the two class periods of final exams that had been postponed from Thursday, December 15, 2005. (This will include any Georgia Department of Education End of Course Tests).

Thursday, January 5, 2006:
· Students begin the 2nd Semester of Classes for 2006.

Report cards should be available for high school students by January 23, 2006. Middle and elementary school students will receive their report cards at the regularly scheduled time, January 6, 2006.

Students enrolling in Hall County High Schools for the first time, will report on January 5, 2006.
