GC&SU student stabbed to death

<p>A Georgia College and State University student was stabbed to death after an altercation early Tuesday, police said.</p><p>Evan Phillip Luke, 20, of Bogart, a sophomore management major and the son of an Oconee County commissioner, died after the fight at an off-campus apartment at about 2:30 a.m., university spokesman Mitch Clarke said.</p><p>Police said the fight followed an argument at a house near the liberal arts university, which has more than 5,500 students.</p><p>Christopher Layman, 20, of Snellville, who was in Milledgeville to work as a carpenter, was arrested nearby and charged with murder. He was held without bond.</p><p>Police said an Eatonton man also was arrested in connection with the fight.</p>
