VALDOSTA, Ga. - Beron Ford returned an interception 69 yards for a touchdown with 3:02 remaining to put the game out of reach and lead West Georgia to a 29-15 victory over Valdosta State on Saturday that cose the Blazers a share of the Gulf South Conference championship.<br>

The Braves (7-4, 7-2 GSC) had seen a 22-6 lead dwindle to 22-15 on a 10-yard run by Vincent Brown with 12:14 left and a 52-yard field goal by Michael Green with 6:12 remaining before Ford's return.<br>

The Braves, ranked No. 2 nationally and the defending NCAA Division II national champions, could have shared the league title with Central Arkansas, which finished its regular season Thursday night with a 49-18 victory over Arkansas Tech.<br>

Green kicked two other field goals of 38 and 26 yards for the Blazers (9-2, 7-2), who won the Division II national championship last year and was No. 2 going into Saturday's game.<br>

West Georgia's other scoring came on a 1-yard run by Brian Davis in the first quarter and a 2-yard run by Javari Taylor in the second. Adi Brkic added field goals of 25 and 35 yards and the Braves also had a safety in the third period.<br>

The Blazers had beaten the Braves five years in a row.<br>
