STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) Sophomore Jayson Foster ran for 149 yards and two touchdowns and passed for 67 yards and two scores to lead Georgia Southern to a 45-7 victory over Western Carolina today.<br>

The Eagles (4-2, 3-1 Southern Conference) had 448 yards of offense, 374 on the ground, and scored on their first four possessions to stymie the Catamounts (2-3, 2-1) from the start.<br>

Foster scored on runs of 18 and 21 yards and threw scoring passes of 23 and 22 yards to Reggie McCutchen, the second breaking a 7-7 tie with 4:16 remaining in the first quarter. Foster attempted only four passes, completing three of them.<br>

After the first T-D pass to McCutchen four minutes into the game, the Catamounts came back with an 80-yard drive for their only score which came on Justin Clark's 15-yard pass to Darius Fudge with 6:45 left in the opening quarter.<br>

G-S-U also got a big boost from Jermaine Austin, who ran for 117 yards on 24 carries, lifting his career total to four-thousand-649 yards, fourth-best in conference history.<br>

Southern's other scoring came on Darius Smiley's 8-yard pass to Lynon Jefferson, Steve Steele's four-yard run and Jonathan Dudley's 25-yard field goal.<br>
