Lula closing down Athens St. for repairs

LULA - The City of Lula will be closing down a main entry point to the city beginning Monday.

The city will close down Athens Street day and night through Saturday, October 15th from Main Street west to Georgia Highway 365 for road construction. The redevolopment and construction of Athens Street requires the removal of all pavement and base and will result in a complete rebuild of the road.

The project costs $300,000 and is a joint venture between Lula, the Georgia Department of Transportation and Hall County.

City officials are recommending that the public use Georgia 52 or Belton Bridge Road for access into and out of the city.
