COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) Place-kicker Josh Brown and receiver Sidney Rice were honored Monday by the Southeastern Conference for their performances in South Carolina's 16-15 win at Tennessee.<br>

Brown was named the league's special teams player of the week after the senior from Clarksburg, Md., made a career-long 49-yard field goal with 2:45 remaining in the game to give the Gamecocks (5-3, 3-3) their first victory in Knoxville, Tenn.<br>

Brown also had five punts for a 37.8-yard average, with one downed inside the 20.<br>
<br>
Rice was named the conference's freshman of the week for the second time this season. The redshirt freshman from Gaffney caught a game-high eight passes for 112 yards and two touchdowns.<br>

Rice extended his school record of at least one touchdown reception to seven consecutive games. He has 11 touchdowns this year, a season record.<br>
<br>
He also was named freshman of the week after the Gamecocks 44-16 victory against Kentucky on Oct. 8.<br>
<br>
The Gamecocks face Arkansas on Saturday.<br>
