<p>Seimone Augustus scored 22 points before crashing into the goal post with almost 10 minutes left in the second half Saturday, as No. 1 LSU beat 17th-ranked Georgia 76-52.</p><p>Augustus stole the ball and drove down court guarded by Janese Hardrick. She apparently lost her balance when she went up for the shot and fell hard against the goal post with 9:48 remaining. She was helped off the court and into the locker room clutching her left arm.</p><p>Augustus was taken to Baton Rouge General Hospital for X-rays of her left elbow. Her condition was not immediately known.</p><p>The Tigers (14-1, 1-0 Southeastern Conference), coming off their first loss of the season, played aggressive defense, holding Georgia to 37 percent shooting from the field (20-54) including 5-for-14 from 3-point distance.</p><p>LSU also forced 16 Georgia turnovers, outrebounded the Bulldogs 51-30 and blocked 10 shots, to put the game away early in the second half.</p><p>Up 34-22 at the break, LSU went ahead 46-28 with 16 minutes left on a 12-6 run fueled by five baskets by Augustus.</p><p>The Tigers outshot Georgia 46-20 in the paint and had 19 second-chance points. Georgia had none.</p><p>LSU, which was coming off its worst offensive performance of the season against Rutgers, shooting 38 percent from the field and turning the ball over 21 times, shot 45 percent from the field against the Bulldogs and had nine turnovers.</p><p>With the loss, Georgia (12-4, 2-1) saw the end of a seven-game winning streak.</p><p>Scholanda Hoston scored 17 points for LSU, Temeka Johnson had 12 points and 11 assists, Wendlyn Jones scored 10 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.</p><p>Tasha Humphrey led the Bulldogs with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Cori Chambers added 13 points.</p>
