Kennesaw State to announce details of move to Division I

ATLANTA - Kennesaw State will announce details of its move up to Division I in intercollegiate athletics Wednesday, including its move to the Atlantic Sun Conference, school spokeswoman Karen Kennedy said Tuesday.<br> <br> As a member of the Peach Belt Athletic Conference, Kennesaw State won the NCAA Division II men&#39;s basketball championship in 2004.<br> <br> With an enrollment of more than 17,000, Kennesaw State is bigger than some Division I schools, and its move had been the subject of speculation before it was confirmed in November.<br> <br> ``We officially moved to Division I in November, but we had no conference affiliation,&#39;&#39; Kennedy said. ``We&#39;ll be announcing the details of that and what sports we&#39;ll need when we make the move.&#39;&#39;<br> <br> Kennesaw State won Division II softball championships in 1995 and 1996, a baseball title in 1996 and a soccer title in 2003.
