Atlanta to host Rams Saturday night

ATLANTA - Jim Mora led the Atlanta Falcons to a 34-17 victory over St. Louis in Week 2 to win his home debut as a rookie head coach.

The stakes will be much higher Saturday night when the two teams meet at the Georgia Dome in the second round of the NFC playoffs.

Atlanta (11-5) earned the No. 2 seed by winning 11 of its first 14 games. The Rams became the first 8-8 team to win a playoff game when they held on for a 27-20 victory at Seattle this weekend.

St. Louis has won three straight to advance to the divisional round of the playoffs for the second consecutive year. The Rams won the Super Bowl to conclude the 1999 season at the Georgia Dome.

The Falcons have never met the Rams in postseason. Atlanta ended a seven-game losing streak in the series 19 weeks ago as quarterback Michael Vick accounted for 288 yards and defensive end Brady Smith scored a fourth-quarter touchdown.
