LAWRENCEVILLE - The Dacula dentist accused of murder in the death of his wife at their Buford home is expected to be brought back to Gwinnett County next week for court appearances.
Thursday, Superior Court Judge Michael Clark ordered Barton Corbin to be present for an arraignment January 31 to formally enter a plea in the death of his wife, Jennifer Corbin, whose body was found December 4 at their home in Buford.
Corbin also has been ordered to be at a hearing next Friday that will address the decision by Superior Court Judge Melodie Snell Conner to step down from the case. The judge did NOT give a reason for her decision.
But in court papers Wednesday, Conner said she voluntarily recused herself because she took evidence on the case and granted an investigative warrant before a grand jury indicted Corbin on January 5.
Corbin has been jailed in Augusta since December 22 when he was charged in the 1990 death of a former dental school girlfriend, Dolly Hearn.
