Corbin ordered back to Gwinnett County

LAWRENCEVILLE - The Dacula dentist accused of murder in the death of his wife is expected to be brought back to Gwinnett County next week for court appearances.

Thursday Superior Court Judge Michael Clark ordered Barton Corbin to be present for an arraignment January 31st to formally enter a plea in the death of his wife, Jennifer Corbin, whose body was found December fourth at their home in Buford.

Corbin also has been ordered to be at a hearing next Friday that will address the decision by Superior Court Judge Melodie Snell Conner to step down from the case. The judge did NOT give a reason for her decision.

But in court papers Wednesday, Conner said she voluntarily recused herself because she took evidence on the case and granted an investigative warrant before a grand jury indicted Corbin on January fifth.

Corbin has been jailed in Augusta since December 22nd when he was charged in the 1990 death of a former dental school girlfriend, Dolly Hearn.
