A 12-year-old girl missing from Wakulla County, Fla., has been found in Georgia with the registered sex offender she disappeared with, authorities said.

Police learned Briana Schultheis and Raymond Lewis had been at a Royal Inn Suites. Following the tip, authorities drove to the hotel, found the pair walking on a street nearby and detained both without incident.

Lewis, 31, was unarmed, said FBI special agent in charge Gregory Jones. He has been charged with transporting a minor across state lines and interstate flight to avoid prosecution. It appeared that Briana left with Lewis willingly. A surveillance video showed the girl with Lewis at the Tallahassee Greyhound station just before 5 a.m. Sunday, getting on a bus for Atlanta, authorities said.

The Crawfordville, Fla., girl was being monitored but appeared unharmed, Jones said. She was cooperating with authorities and waiting to be reunited with her family.

Briana vanished on Sunday with Lewis, who had been doing some work for her family.

The girl's mother had Lewis fired when she found out about his background, but authorities said the girl had formed some kind of bond with him.

Briana's mother believed the girl was sleeping Sunday, but went to her bedroom to check on her and found her missing, Smith said. The window was open, and Briana, her backpack and some clothes and personal items were missing.

Records show Lewis was charged three years ago with lewd or lascivious battery on a minor, pleaded no contest and was sentenced to house arrest and sex offender probation.

Lewis' mother, Bonnie Marshall, told the Tallahassee Democrat that she knew that Briana and her son were flirting and warned him off. Detectives found letters from Lewis among Briana's belongings.

"I told him he didn't need to be around her, that he was pushing his luck," she said.

Authorities had issued an Amber Alert a $10,000 the reward in hopes of finding Briana and putting Lewis in jail. It wasn't clear Wednesday whether a tipster would get the reward.
