LAGRANGE - Marshall Sheppard finished with 220 rushing yards on just nine carries and three touchdowns as Class AAA No. 1 LaGrange easily beat No. 2 Shaw 37-10 Friday night.<br>

Backup running back Justin Patterson also rushed for 100 yards including a touchdown. He carried the ball 12 times for 71 yards in the second half. Thad Todd completed 4-of-7 passes for 76 yards with a touchdown for LaGrange.<br>

NO. 4 CARROLLTON BEATS HIGHER CLASS OPPONENT FOR FOURTH STRAIGHT WEEK: The Carrollton defense collected nine sacks in a 14-0 victory over Fayette County.<br>

Fullback Sanchez Houston rushed for 122 yards on 26 carries with a touchdown.<br>
<br>
The Trojans (4-0) dominated the final numbers as Carrollton's offense compiled 234 yards of offense, compared with Fayette County's 22.<br>
<br>
Trojan's Blake Caldwell scored on an two-yard quarterback in the second quarter, giving them a 7-0 lead.<br>
<br>
Tiger (0-4) senior quarterbacks Richard Davis and Jonathan Watson had a combined minus-76 yards due to constant pressure from the Carrollton defense.<br>

NO. 2 LOWNDES RESERVES GETS MORE PLAYING TIME: Lowndes needed just four plays before its starters were lounging on the sideline.<br>

Using those four plays just seven minutes into the first quarter, the Vikings jumped out to a 21-0 lead over Meadowcreek and went on to rout Savannah 49-0.<br>

Lynn Williams returned a punt 44 yards and then caught a 35-yard touchdown pass from Doug Belk, all in the first quarter, to give Lowndes a 42-0 lead after 12 minutes of play.<br>

Williams also scored on a 53-yard run, giving him three touchdowns and 132 all-purpose yards in just one quarter of play.<br>

Marlon Jones, who had 62 yards on two carries, scored the Vikings' first touchdown less than a minute into the game.<br>

Matt Harper caught a 45-yard touchdown pass on Belk's first pass of the game and Darriet Perry added a 23-yard touchdown run to cap the Vikings' first-quarter scoring.<br>
<br>
Belk compled 2-of-3 passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns.
