CLEVELAND - Seven people - including one already in jail in Gainesville - have been arrested and charged with the theft of thousands of dollars worth of items in White County in unrelated incidents.
Sheriff Neal Walden said with the cooperation of law enforcement agencies in surrounding counties, his investigators have recovered more than $35,000 worth of stolen property.
Arrested were: 50- year old Billy Wayne Bolding, who is currently in the Hall County Detention Center on unrelated charges. When released, Walden says Bolding will face two counts of burglary as well as theft by taking of a motor vehicle in White County.
33 year old John Thomas Smith is charged with theft by taking; 33 year old Robert Lee Mitchell, charged with theft by receiving stolen property; 19 year old Joshua Allen Nutting, currently in Habersham County Jail on unrelated charges, and when released will face theft by taking of a motor vehicle in White County; 20 year old Christopher Michael LeBlanc, now in Habersham County Jail, when released faces theft by taking of a motor vehicle in White County; and, 36 year old John Truman Hall, Jr., currently in White County Detention Center, charged with Felony Theft by Taking. Also charged was a juvenile who faces theft by taking of a motor vehicle in White County.
Sheriff Walden said the investigation is continuing and may result in additional arrests as well as the recover of more stolen property.
