ATHENS - Georgia coach Dennis Felton has finally signed a six-year contract, retroactive to last season, paying him $700,000 a year.
Felton was hired 16 months ago after Jim Harrick resigned amid a scandal involving NCAA violations tied to assistant coach son Jim Harrick Jr.
Felton will make a $150,000 base salary from the University System of Georgia under the contract released Monday.
Under the terms, which were announced when he was hired, he also will make $275,000 for radio and television, $200,000 from endorsements and $75,000 running summer basketball camps. Under incentives from the UGA Athletic Association, he could get a bonus of $75,000 if the Bulldogs win a Southeastern Conference regular-season title and $150,000 for an NCAA championship.
Until July 1, Felton said he had been getting by on a good-faith agreement. He said he had been ``too busy'' to sign the contract.
