LAWRENCEVILLE - The Gwinnett County Police Department's Electronic and Financial Crimes Task Force have made an arrest in an eBay scam set up by a Buford teenager.
Investigators say they received reports from three victims who said they had placed what they believed to be winning bids on a High Definition Plasma Television. The three each sent Brian J. Kim, 18, 5705 Windchase Dr., Buford, approximately $2,000 but never received the merchandise.
On August 26 investigators served a search warrant at Kim's home and recovered evidence of the Internet transactions. The teenager was then arrested at Phoenix High School in Lawrenceville.
As of mid-morning Friday, Kim had been charged with one count of Theft by Deception.
