Rome man's wife, church member charged in fatal stabbing

<p>The wife of a man who was fatally stabbed outside his workplace and her alleged lover were charged with murder Thursday.</p><p>The investigation into Monday's death of Thad John Glenn Reynolds revealed that his wife, Michelle, 33, and Richard Scott Harper, 31, were romantically involved, authorities said.</p><p>Reynolds, 36, was stabbed about 18 times outside the Frito-Lay distribution center where he worked as a district manager. Another employee discovered the body two hours later, around 6 a.m., after arriving at work.</p><p>A sheath to a hunting knife was found near Reynolds' car in the parking lot, and a red minivan was seen leaving the area around the time of the killing, Floyd County police Sgt. Dallas Battle said.</p><p>Assistant Police Chief Bill Shiflett said Michelle Reynolds helped plan the killing.</p><p>"The investigation has shown that both conspired to commit the murder by various means of communication, including personal contact, telephone and computer generated messages," he said.</p><p>Shiflett said Harper went to a Rome hospital Monday "to be treated for wounds to his hands."</p><p>Both families attended Hollywood Baptist Church, where Harper was listed as a family pastor and Reynolds was a deacon.</p><p>The Reynolds' four children, 1-12, were with family and friends, Shiflett said.</p><p>___</p><p>HASH(0x2866520)</p>
