COMMERCE - In the first preseason power rating numbers for the upcoming 2004 prep football season, Commerce is rated fifth in Class A.<br>

The Tigers are coming off a run into the Elite 8 of the 2003 playoffs before losing to eventual Class A champion Hawkinsville, which rated first just ahead of last year's runner-up Lincoln County. Trion and Clinch County are third and fourth.<br>

Commerce opens the season against Trion at home August 21st.<br>

Athens Academy is rated 17th and Jefferson 18th giving Region 8-A three teams in the top 20 in power numbers.<br>
<br>
Landmark Christian is rated sixth with Washington-Wilkes, Pacelli, Calvary Baptist and Bremen rounding out the top 10.
