Now, the northwest Georgia city is adding professional football to the mix.
Oscar Dillard, part owner of the Oklahoma Crude indoor football team, announced Thursday that he will move the team to Rome next season.
The team is part of the National Indoor Football League and will begin play here next March.
Although some paperwork has to be completed before the move becomes official, Dillard signed a letter of intent yesterday with The Forum, which will host the team's home games.
