ST. SIMONS ISLAND - Thomas Hugghins bounced back from a double-bogey on his first hole to tie Ash Alstadt for the first round lead Tuesday in the Southern Junior Golf Championship.<br>

Hugghins, who is from Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., had four birdies in his round at the Seaside Course at Sea Island Golf Club and finished with an even-par 70. Alstadt, from Little Rock, Ark., had one bogey and one birdie in his round.<br>
<br>
Six players were tied one shot behind the leaders, and another seven were two shots back. That included Ben Rogers from San Antonio, the son of 1981 British Open champ Bill Rogers.<br>
