Bobcats get some players

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Bobcats stayed away from high-salaried players as they made their selections in the NBA expansion draft. Jahidi White has the top salary among the players taken by the Bobcats today. He's scheduled to earn $5.88 million next season, but the Bobcats received $3 million and a future first-round pick from Phoenix for agreeing to take White. The Bobcats also took Predrag Drobjnak as part of Monday's trade with the Los Angeles Clippers. Also going to Charlotte are guards J.R. Bremer and Jeff Trepanier, along with swingman Maurice Carter. Lonny Baxter, Desmond Ferguson, Brandon Hunter and Jason Kapono were among the forwards taken, along with Zaza Pachulia, Tamar Slay, Theron Smith and Gerald Wallace. Primoz Brezec, Jamal Simpson and Loren Woods also were selected by the Bobcats. Charlotte took forward Aleksandar Pavlovic, but he will be dealt to Cleveland for a future first-round draft pick.
