NYSE suspends trading of Friedman's

<p>The New York Stock Exchange said Tuesday it has suspended trading in shares of jewelry chain Friedman's Inc., which is under investigation for its accounting.</p><p>Shares of the Savannah, Ga.-based company have been halted for news since May 6 and last traded at $4.97.</p><p>The NYSE said Friedman's may review and appeal the determination.</p><p>Friedman's is being investigated by the Justice Department and the Securities and Exchange Commission.</p><p>Late Monday, Friedman's announced that two of five recently elected directors resigned. Richard Cartoon, its chief financial officer, resigned last week.</p>
