Overnight work to close parts of Green, Butler

By by Ken Stanford
GAINESVILLE - The City of Gainesville along with Summit Pipeline Company will begin performing water meter improvements along Green Street from Jesse Jewell Parkway to the split at Thompson Bridge Road and Riverside Drive early next month.

The city hopes to finish the work before the state Department of Transportation begins resurfacing this portion of the street in July.

The work will begin on Monday, June 7, and continue for approximately three weeks.

Crews will be working at night, 8:00-5:00, Mondays through Thursdays. During these hours, the outer southbound lane heading into town will be closed. Also at various times there will be a need to close the outer northbound lane, according to city officials.

Each home and business will be notified prior to water service interruption.
