LAS VEGAS - The ninth annual Las Vegas Showdown will feature NCAA tournament powerhouses Georgia Tech and Oklahoma State.
Oklahoma State will play UNLV on ESPN, with Georgia Tech possibly playing Gonzaga, another NCAA Tournament team, in the opener on ESPN2, said Pete Derzis, senior vice president with ESPN Regional.
The doubleheader is scheduled for Dec. 18 at the Thomas Mack Center.
``We're looking at possibly one of the best college events in the country for next season,'' Derzis said.
Oklahoma State is 4-1 against the Rebels, winning 77-69 in the most recent meeting in 2000. The Showdown will be part of a home-and-home matchup, with UNLV playing in Oklahoma in the 2005-06 season.
