14 NE Georgia counties to receive federal disaster money

ATLANTA - Fourteen northeast Georgia counties will share in grants totaling nearly $2.7 million headed to Georgia from the department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.<br>

The funding will be distributed to 104 counties to help the state identify hazards, risks and overall vulnerability to natural hazards, such as floods, tornadoes and hurricanes.<br>
<br>
The counties in northeast Georgia getting some of the money are Jackson, Banks, Stephens, Habersham, Dawson, Forsyth, Fannin, Gilmer, Towns, Rabun, Franklin, Hart, Madison, and Elbert.
