CHESTNUT MOUNTAIN - Dwayne Buggay's dream season continued Saturday night when he claimed his third win in four starts this season in the Akins Pro Late Model division at Lanier National Speedway.

Buggay, who has won five of the last six Pro Late Model events at Lanier dating back to 2003, said despite his recent success his crew is constantly searching for more speed from his No. 45 Ford Taurus.

"This was probably the best car I've had all year," said Buggay, who made the winning move when he passed Tony Bennett for the lead on lap eight. "It was just awesome."

"Coming off the corners it was real strong and didn't slip much. It had good forward bite."

Rodney Benefield seized the moment when Kevin Barrett and Curt Britt crashed while battling for the lead with nine laps remaining in the Team Ford of Marietta Pro Truck feature.

Benefield's win was his first of 2004 and snapped Britt's two-race win streak in the Pro Truck division.

Buster Thrasher led from start to finish to win the Billy Howell Ford Ministock feature event.

Spanky Hicks held off a fast-closing Chad Hoopaugh in the final laps to win the
Garrison Racing Factory Four feature.

Eric Simpson and Jesse Smith were Legends feature winners. Rodney Cox claimed victory in the Longhorn Steakhouse X-Karz.

The NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series returns to Lanier National Speedway on Saturday April 24. The evening will be highlighted by round two of the Zaxby's Super Six Challenge 125-lap Akins Pro Late Model feature.

The ASA Series returns to Lanier National Speedway on Saturday May 1 for a 250-lap event.
