<p>The Atlanta Thrashers acquired forward Kip Brennan from the Los Angeles Kings Tuesday in exchange for forward Jeff Cowan.</p><p>The Thrashers also activated J.P. Vigier from injured reserve and announced that Washington had claimed defenseman Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre and left wing Bill Lindsay off waivers from Atlanta.</p><p>Brennan, 23, who will join the Thrashers on Wednesday, had one goal and 79 penalty minutes in 18 games with Los Angeles. He was scoreless with six penalty minutes in two games with Manchester of the AHL under a conditioning assignment.</p><p>Cowan, 27, had a career-best 24 points (nine goals and 15 assists) and 68 penalty minutes in 58 games with the Thrashers. He missed 10 games in from mid-December to mid-January after a concussion.</p><p>Vigier, 27, has missed the last seven games with a rib injury at Ottawa on Feb. 19. He has 10 goals and eight assists, and 18 penalty minutes, in 59 games.</p><p>Grand-Pierre, 27, has six goals and 13 assists and 297 penalty minutes in 256 NHL games the past six seasons with Buffalo, Columbus and Atlanta.</p><p>Lindsay, 32, has been out since he had surgery to repair a fractured larynx after being struck by a puck at Montreal on Jan. 3. He has 83 goals and 141 assists in 777 NHL games with Quebec, Florida, Calgary, San Jose, Montreal and Atlanta.</p>
