MACON - Lizzy Sprague scored 21 points and Savannah Country Day advanced to its second state championship game in four years, beating Twiggs County 56-26 in a Class A girls state semifinal on Wednesday.<br>

The Lady Hornets (23-8), who won the Class A title in 2000, will meet Hawkinsville, a 60-47 winner over Social Circle, for the title Saturday at 11 a.m.<br>

Savannah Country Day held Twiggs (20-12) to single-digit scoring in all four quarters and controlled the game throughout the final three quarters.<br>
<br>
Country Day led 27-14 at halftime and opened the third quarter with an 8-1 run to turn the game into a rout, leading by as many as 32 in the second half.<br>

Catherine Cooper added 16 points and Francie McMath 10 for Country Day. Mateasder Cooper scored 15 for Twiggs County.<br>

Hawkinsville earned a chance at its first state championship since 1989, getting 26 points from freshman Cierra Duhart and 20 from Aleceia Jackson.<br>

Hawkinsville led 43-37 late in the third period before Appolonia Ross hit a 3-pointer with four seconds to go, and the Lady Red Devils put up a 6-2 run to open a 52-39 lead early in the fourth.<br>
<br>
Social Circle (28-3) got no closer than 10 after that, and Hawkinsville put the game away with an 8-2 run later in the fourth.<br>

Shekiya Tarpkins scored 28 to lead Social Circle.
