Tyler leads Lady Falcons over West Hall

OAKWOOD - The Flowery Branch girls basketball team clinched third in Region 7-AAA South with a solid 52-43 win over rival West Hall Friday night.

Kristina Tyler had 20 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Lady Falcons (17-7, 4-4) to the win. It was their second straight win heading into next week's Region 7-AAA tournament.

Flowery Branch lead throughout taking a 24-19 lead into halftime. They led 33-28 heading into the final period.

The Lady Spartans (10-12, 1-7) fell behind by 10 early in the fourth quarter but then staged a furious comeback. They cut it to two points on a 3-pointer by Talia Lindsey.

But freshman Courtney Newton, who finished with 12 points, and junior Beth Adcock, both hit several key free throws down the stretch to preserve the win.

It was the fifth straight loss for West Hall.
