<p>O.J. Simpson caused shoppers to do a double-take as he strolled through a mall.</p><p>Simpson was in town Saturday for an appearance at a nightclub that was named in his honor.</p><p>Studio 32 owner Darren Lowe chose Simpson's number to name his club.</p><p>Simpson spent more than an hour at Colonial Mall Macon shopping, signing autographs and posing for pictures.</p><p>Charlene Wells of Warner Robins didn't believe her eyes when her son called her attention to the former all-star football player.</p><p>Stephen Wells snapped a couple of photos on his video phone after he recognized the notorious celebrity who was acquitted of murder in the death of his ex-wife and her friend but later found liable in the killings.</p><p>"I knew he was going to be in town because I read it in the paper," Stephen Wells said.</p><p>"We just didn't think he'd be at the mall," said Charlene Wells.</p><p>Simpson began venturing out about two years ago, he said. Now that his daughter is in college and his son will be graduating from high school in the next couple of years, he said he expects to travel more.</p><p>"To see the people who wrote me and supported me over the years," Simpson said, "I could be gone every day of the year for the number of invitations I get."</p><p>Simpson's manager, Norman Pardo, arranged for the Heisman Trophy winner to visit Macon.</p><p>With golfing buddies out of town and Simpson's son on a weekend trip, he agreed to the visit.</p><p>"Why not? I don't have anything else to do," Simpson said. "When a guy names his club after you, it's the least you can do."</p><p>Simpson said he was enjoying his trip to the state.</p><p>"Georgia is a great sports state," he said.</p><p>Pardo said he puts Simpson in ordinary situations and films people's reaction for a documentary he is producing. In shadowing Simpson, Pardo said Simpson is well-received where he goes.</p><p>"You don't see people yelling 'murderer' or anything," Pardo said.
