NORFOLK, VIRGINIA - Chakowby Hicks had 15 points and six steals Tuesday night as Norfolk State defeated Savannah State 76-49.<br>

Hicks scored 12 of his points in the first half, as the Spartans (1-2) jumped to a 6-4 lead that they never relinquished. Norfolk State led 42-19 at halftime.<br>

The Spartans' run continued after intermission, building a lead of as much as 68-33 with 4:43 to go.<br>

Tony Murphy had 13 points for the Spartans, and Ryan Grier added 10.<br>

Mark Williams led the Tigers (0-7) with 16 points, and Lazarius Coleman added 10.<br>

Norfolk State outrebounded Savannah State 50 to 34.
