Meyer fills out staff with Holliday

GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA - Florida coach Urban Meyer filled the remaining spot on his new coaching staff Thurday, hiring John ``Doc'' Holliday.

Holliday, who has not been give a specific role, has served as the associate head coach and wide receivers coach at North Carolina State for the last five years after a 21-year career as a West Virginia assistant.

``He brings a wealth of experience and a tremendous knowledge of the game,'' Meyer said.

Holliday served as an assistant coach for some of the most prolific offensive teams in N.C. State history. With quarterback Philip Rivers in 2003, the Wolfpack set school marks averaging 37.6 points and 453.2 yards of total offense.

Meyer had named the majority of his staff on Monday, bringing four assistants with him from Utah, keeping two from Ron Zook's staff at Florida and bringing in two other coaches from outside schools.
