Von Wafer's Record Night Leads Seminoles To Victory

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Von Wafer scored a career-high 22 points and Anthony Richardson added 16 points and 10 rebounds as Florida State beat Stetson 71-61 on Thursday night. <br>

Struggling to find a rhythm against Stetson's zone defense, the Seminoles (7-5) managed to get their third win in four games. <br>
<br>
The Hatters (2-5) stayed close behind on the shooting of Anthony Register. Register scored all of his team-high 17 points in the second half, including nine of the Hatters final 15 points. <br>

Wafer, 6-of-12 on 3-point attempts, gave the Seminoles a 65-51 lead with a pair of free throws and 2:41 to play. Register followed with a 3-pointer and two free throws, and E.J. Gordon's layup got Stetson within 65-58 with 1:50 to go. <br>

Adam Waleskowski added 13 points for the Seminoles. E.J. Gordon scored 15 points for the Hatters and Borislav Djordjic added 10 for Stetson, which has lost four of its last five games. <br>

Stetson led 22-21 with 5:20 to play in the first half following a pair of Will Holloman free throws before Florida State went on a 15-5 run to close the half for a 36-27 lead. <br>

The Seminoles regained the lead on a Wafer layup and he added a 3-pointer to lead the surge. Guard Todd Galloway provided a big lift, feeding Antonio Griffin for a dunk, drawing a charge which led to Wafer's 3-pointer. Galloway followed up with a 3-pointer as the Seminoles pushed their lead to 32-24.
