Arkansas 73, Jacksonville St. 67

(AP) Ronnie Brewer scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Arkansas to a 73-67 victory over Jacksonville State on Wednesday.<br> <br> Arkansas (11-1) came back from a 2-point half-time deficit for the win. The score was 33-31 at the break, but the Razorbacks improved to a 42-34 second half.<br> <br> Brewer was 5-of-14 from the field and went 6-of-8 from the free throw line. Eric Ferguson followed with 13 points and a team-leading six assists. Darian Townes, one of coach Stan Heath&#39;s towering players, had 11 points and five rebounds.<br> <br> But most statistics point to a hard-fought win for the Razorbacks over Jacksonville State (4-8). Arkansas earned 19 points off turnovers, while Jacksonville State had 24. Jacksonville State&#39;s shooting percentage was higher 54.2 percent to Arkansas&#39; 46.6 percent.<br> <br> Both team&#39;s shooting suffered in the second. Arkansas went from 53.8 percent to 40.6 percent and Jacksonville State dropped from 59.1 percent to 50 percent. Jacksonville State may have lost the game at the free throw lines. The team&#39;s 14 fouls brought the Razorbacks to the line, with Arkansas shooting 13-of-22. The Razorbacks shot a dismal 1-of-4 or 25 percent from the foul line in the first period, but improved to 12-of-17 for 70.6 percent in the second.<br> <br> Walker Russell led Jacksonville State with 24 points and six assists. Anthony Wilson followed with 15 and Dorein Brown had 10. Jonathon Modica earned a technical foul in the second.
