Rescuers work to rescue construction worker trapped in collapsed trench

<p>About 50 rescuer worked through the night and into Tuesday morning in an effort to dig out a construction worker who was buried after a trench collapsed at a new subdivision.</p><p>Workers were called in from Cobb and Gwinnett counties to aid the Forsyth County rescue workers.</p><p>The trench collapsed around 9 p.m. Monday as construction crews were digging sewer lines at a subdivision construction site. Officials believe the worker was trapped in an air pocket. He was buried up to his neck.</p><p>By 6 a.m. Tuesday, officials said they were close to getting the man out of the trench. But then water began seeping into the trench, delaying their efforts.</p><p>In the meantime, Forsyth County Fire Deputy Chief Dwight said rescuers were trying to keep the trapped worker comfortable by sending down oxygen and warm air.</p>
