NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) Gardner-Webb held Charleston Southern to 14 yards rushing and stopped the Buccaneers near the end zone three times in the second half in a 18-0 victory Saturday.<br> <br> George Pressley ran for 149 yards on 25 carries and Nick Roberts completed 16 of 30 passes for 162 yards as the Bulldogs (4-6, 2-2 Big South Conference) shut out Charleston Southern for the second straight year.<br> <br> Gardner-Webb led 12-0 at half after a touchdown pass caught by Duvaughn Flagler, a safety on a punt snapped through the end zone and a 37-yard field goal by Hunter Smith.<br> <br> The Bulldog defense then took over. Midway through the third quarter, Charleston Southern (5-4, 1-2) was driving when Rent Sherrill picked off a tipped pass in the end zone.<br> <br> After Jermaine Boston touchdown gave Gardner-Webb a 18-0 lead, the Buccaneers drove to the Bulldog 6, but quarterback Collin Drafts fumbled the ball trying to run in for the score and it rolled out of the end zone.<br> <br> On its next drive, Charleston Southern was stopped on fourth-and-goal at the Gardner-Webb 1.<br> <br> Drafts was 20-of-38 for 225 yards and Eddie Gadson caught 10 passes for 127 yards for the Buccaneers, who will have one more chance to secure their first ever winning season against Coastal Carolina next week.
