MIAMI (AP) Chaz Williams scored three rushing touchdowns and Georgia Southern ran for 515 yards to defeat Florida International 53-32 on Saturday afternoon.<br>

Georgia Southern (9-2) piled up 76 carries and five rushing touchdowns as the Eagles scored more than 50 points for the sixth game this season.<br>

Georgia Southern scored 29 unanswered points to start the second half and overcame a 25-17 halftime lead by FIU (2-5). Jermaine Austin led the Eagles with 148 yards on 22 carries and two touchdowns.<br>

On the first drive of the third quarter, Georgia Southern's T.J. Anderson finished off an 80-yard drive with a 14-yard run to tie the game.<br>

The Eagles then scored 14 points in less than two minutes to take command of the game. Williams' one yard plunge gave them a 32-25 lead and Anderson scored on a 39 yard run with 2:09 left in the third.<br>

FIU quarterback Josh Padrick pulled the Golden Panthers within 14 points with a seven yard touchdown pass to Samuel Smith.<br>

The Eagles put the game out of reach with 1:21 remaining in the game when A.J. Bryant returned a Padrick interception 73 yards for a touchdown.<br>

Padrick finished the game 28 of 39 for 281 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions.<br>

FIU opened up its first half lead on the strength of Rashod Smith's running. Smith ran for 139 yards on 20 carries and two first-half touchdowns.<br>

Williams, the Eagles' quarterback, threw only three completions during the game, but connected with Teddy Craft for a 63 yard touchdown in the second quarter. Williams completed 4 of 10 passes for 95 yards, and he had 62 rushing yards on 19 carries.
