Five charged, stolen property recovered in Jackson County

JEFFERSON - Stolen property from Hall and several other counties has been recovered in Jackson County and five people have been charged in the case.

Jackson County sheriff's investigators say they recovered stolen property from Hall, Barrow, and Habersham counties, as well as Tennessee.

Included were cars and trucks, guns, computers and other items.

According to a posting on the sheriff's department Web site, the items were found on Holly Springs Road at the scene of an alleged beating and robbery which was being investigated by sheriff's deputies.

The suspects are: Ben Baughcum, Age 32 of Jefferson; John Atha, Age 22 of Braselton; Tommy Lee Looney, age 31 of Toccoa; Cynthia Lousie Baughcum, age 39 of Gillsville; Johnny Baughcum, age 39 of Gillsville.

All have been charged with Kidnapping, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Theft by Receiving, and additional charges on Johnny and Cynthia Baughcum of Possession of Methamphetamine with intent to distribute, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.
