Mercer beats Georgia Southern in 2OT

MACON - James Odoms hit a 3-pointer at the end of the first overtime and scored six points in the second extra period to help Mercer beat Georgia Southern 103-94 in double overtime Monday night.<br> <br> Georgia Southern (2-4) trailed 42-38 at the half and fell behind 73-55 at the 9:54 mark of the second half. The Eagles then launched a 10-0 run, capped by a jumper by Anthony Marshall, to pull within eight points and continued to chip away.<br> <br> The game was tied at 84-all at the end of regulation and at 92 after the first extra period, Georgia Southern managed just two points in the second overtime as the Bears pulled away.<br> <br> James Skogen led Mercer (2-1) with 34 points, including five 3-pointers.<br> <br> Will Emerson scored 20, Odoms had 17 and Wesley Duke added 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Bears.<br> <br> For the Eagles, Jean Francois had 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Elton Nesbitt scored 21 points. Donte Gennie scored 18 for Georgia Southern, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range.
