Cleveland - Thomas Oscar Seabolt The oldest actual son of a confederate veteran in northeast Georgia celebrated his 98th birthday Friday.
Commander Stan McDaniel of the Gainesville chapter of the Sons of Confederate Veterans says Seabolt is still in good health.
"He is very agile, very active. He walks in his yard and works in his yard." McDaniel said. "I just hope at 98 year old I have half the energy that he has."
His father was Frances Lafayette Seabolt who served in the 52nd based out of White County. He was captured at Chickamauga and was a POW.
