McBride, who coaches Kentucky's inside linebackers, will miss Saturday's game against Alabama, Wildcats' coach Rich Brooks said.<br>

``The surgery went well,'' Brooks said. ``I went to see him and he is in good spirits. He hopes to be out of the hospital in another couple of days.''<br>

McBride coached Utah from 1990-2002. McBride was fired after the 2002 season, when the Utes finished 5-6.<br>

McBride went 88-63 at Utah and guided the program to six bowl games.
