Lowndes High finally had some adversity shoved in its face.<br>

The Vikings took that adversity and did what an 8-0 team should do with it. Lowndes remained unbeaten with a 31-6 win over Tift County.<br>

``Bar none,'' Lowndes coach Randy McPherson said. ``They were tough.''<br>
<br>
Donnell Cullins connected with Lee Caquelard on a 4-yard touchdown pass. Charlie Edwards' point after was blocked as Tift cut the lead to 14-6.<br>
<br>
But after gaining 137 yards at halftime, Tift (5-3) managed just 56 yards in the second half and was shut out. The Blue Devils did manage to gain 193 yards for the game.<br>

Ahead 17-6 in the third quarter, Lowndes fullback Octavius Everett, who didn't play at in the first half, scored on a 21-yard run to put the Vikings up 24-6.<br>

Lowndes quarterback Doug Belk threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to Bryan Sermons in the first quarter.
