ATLANTA - There were no changes in the latest Associated Press high school football poll in Class AAA.
North Hall (8-0) remains seventh in Class AAA after a 56-7 win over Gilmer last week. No other northeast Georgia teams were ranked in Class AAA.
In Class AA, Buford remained third with GAC moving up two spots to sixth in the poll.
In Class A, Jefferson fell out of the top 10 while Commerce is just one point behind No. 10 Bowden.
There were few surprises in the rankings as a whole as only three new teams entered the poll - all at No. 10 - as region playoffs approached.
In Class AA, Savannah Christian (8-1) fell three positions to No. 9 after losing its first game of the year to Toombs County. Thomasville (6-1) moved up to No. 8. Coosa's loss to Calhoun made way for its exit and made room for Dublin to enter at No. 10. Vidalia, Fitgerald and Buford round out the top three, respectively.
The Class AAAA rankings have former No. 10 St. Pius X moving out of the poll after an idle week with Creekside taking its place. No. 6 Warner Robins and No. 7 Sandy Creek flip-flopped and all other teams maintained their previous ranking.
The only change in the Class A poll is Bowdon (6-2) becoming the new member at No. 10 after Jefferson vacated the position with a 34-31 loss to Commerce. Hawkinsville (8-0) continues as the strong No. 1 favorite with 15 first-place votes followed by No. 2 Pacelli Catholic (8-0) and No. 3 Clinch County (8-1).
No. 8 Walton (7-1) and No. 9 Harrison (7-1) exchanged positions in Class AAAAA, representing the only moves. No. 1 Camden County, No. 2 Lowndes and No. 3 Parkview remain on top.
