Several northeast Georgia football teams finished in the top 10 in the state in their classifications in the final Associated Press poll released this week.<br>

In Class AAA, Gainesville, which had been ranked No. 1 most of the season, finished eighth after being upset by Westmister in the second round of the playoffs.<br>

gainesville was the only school from Hall County and Region 7-AAA to finish in the final poll.<br>
<br>
Stephens County, which advanced to the quarterfinals, finished sixth in the poll. Hart County received 10 votes, good for 12th.<br>
<br>
In Class AA, Buford, which won the Class AA state title, was voted No. 1 in the final poll. The Wolves have won 45 straight games and three consecutive state titles - two straight in Class AA and won in Class A in 2001.<br>

In Class A, Commerce finished seventh after a 10-3 season. Jefferson received one vote, which put them 14th in the final poll.<br>
