Final football prep rankings recognize area schools

Several northeast Georgia football teams finished in the top 10 in the state in their classifications in the final Associated Press poll released this week.<br> <br> In Class AAA, Gainesville, which had been ranked No. 1 most of the season, finished eighth after being upset by Westmister in the second round of the playoffs.<br> <br> gainesville was the only school from Hall County and Region 7-AAA to finish in the final poll.<br> <br> Stephens County, which advanced to the quarterfinals, finished sixth in the poll. Hart County received 10 votes, good for 12th.<br> <br> In Class AA, Buford, which won the Class AA state title, was voted No. 1 in the final poll. The Wolves have won 45 straight games and three consecutive state titles - two straight in Class AA and won in Class A in 2001.<br> <br> In Class A, Commerce finished seventh after a 10-3 season.
